Kristine Mietzner is an adjunct faculty member with the Touro University California Graduate School of Education. She has taught memoir writing through the Palo Alto, Mt. Diablo, and Martinez Adult Schools.
After graduating with a B.A. from the University of Washington in Seattle, Kristine worked as an on-air broadcast journalist in Alaska. She holds an M.S. in Education from California State University East Bay. In 2009, she semi-retired from a career as a teacher and reading specialist in California public schools. Kristine lives in northern California with her golden retriever Max.
Kristine’s story Juneau was published in the anthology Something That Matters: Life, Love, and Unexpected Adventures in the Middle of the Journey. Her writing has appeared in the Contra Costa Times, Bay Area Parent, the Benicia Herald, and elsewhere.
